I have read the topic about enabling the console and i add ' -console' to the end of the target menu under my half life shortcut, but whenver i try to apply it it says something like 'it is not a valid path' whats up with this?

You could need to add quotes around the path to the executable itself if you (silly boy) have installed HL in a place with spaces in the name ? example:

"C:Program FilesSierraHalf-Lifehl.exe" -dev -console

it works. I feel such a n00b. (actually i am a n00b but anyway...)
