Ive been trying for 6 days now to get these damn level changes to work! but everytime i get stuck in the floor! Now i know there are hundreds of topics about level changes but nothing works!!

The most frustrating thing is that i'll go through one and it will work fine, then i'll go back and its fine... i think to myself finnaly ive done it... walk back through and hey! im stuck in the ground again!!!! Even though its already worked once!!! :x

Ive tried everything! And i even went to the drastic measure of deleting my whole section the map and redoing it!!

Everytime im getting stuck in the floor.

What to do?!

Just keep tweaking the info_landmark

its crazy! when i change one to make it work, it works but the other one is mucked up! I keep trying having the landmark in exactly th same place just making it higher, but it still doesnt work!

Its so frustrating!!!!

I though all you had to do was name the landmark the same, write in the name of the next level, write in the name of the landmark, and put the land mark in exactly the same place in both maps. Ive done all this and it still doesnt work!!!!

Ok, here is my quick guide to level changes:
Ok, you have your first level and second level right, now delete the trigger_changelevel and info_landmark! Put in a trigger_changelevel into the first level and set the landmark name to land1. Set the next map as what ever the next one is called! Now, here is the landmark bit. Put in a info_landmark inside the changelevel and name it land1. Now, thats your first bit done! Now, save the as what u want the first level to be called!
Now for the next level! With your first level saved and still opened in Hammer, delete the necassary amount of level so the second map doesnt have the rest of the first in. Just leave the changelevel and landmark where they are. Now, open the changelevel properties and set the next map to the name of the first map. After you have done this, just build the rest of the level and save this as whatever you want the second map to be called! Simple!
NOTE: You can substitute the landmark name for what ever you want!

Pheww, that was a long post! I really should start doing tutorials when I can think of a new idea! I go into enough detail! Hope this helped! It took me 10 minutes to write! :)

The landmark MUST be in the same place in both maps. Once you've placed it in one, copy the map and rename the new one to the one you're transitioning to, then edit the changelevel, delete any stuff you won't see in the new map, add new stuff.....

Before you make your real trigger-changelevel. Make 2 maps with the same boring hallway and practise level changes.

make it a one-way level change!

My method is the best cos you dont need to do another landmark. You just have to delete the old bit and do the next level! Much easier!
