I suggest you get the, umm, 'free' version and try it out yourself. If it's good, buy it.

It's OK, the multiplayer sucks but the single-player is good.

I found the singleplayer demo to be a cross between Doom3 and Unreal II. Not really original to be honest.

Get the 'free' version or demo, and if it's good - buy it.

Hahaha ironic that I downloaded the demo today before seeing this topic, I liked the action, like DOOM 3 with action so i'm getting it wink

Uh, visually, it's a copy of doom 3.
Claustrophobic environments, dark lighting, weird-ass monsters (stroggs), not to mention they have the same engine. The outdoor scenes are few and dull.

The game's pretty repetetive and lacks originality. It's pretty much doom 3 on speed.

Yeah, but sometimes it looks like they even used the same models and textures for cables and pipes. That's a bit lazy. I dont know all the games that ID Software and Raven Software have made, but it would be interesting to see if they can do something different than their Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein franchises.

I don't think that I'll bother downloading Q4.. I'm not a big fan of Doom 3, so I don't think that Q4 will be any better.. :

It still amazes me how a design team is capable of making highly detailed maps and then hide them in the dark. Unreal II > Quake4 (at least the things I saw in the demo)

Its not all dark, well, most of it was for me, but then I tured brightness up and it was good, and your smg/pistol and one more gun (forget) have flashlights on them, with neverending batteries

demo is nothing like game.
quake 4 is good.
the only reason doom 3 and q4 are alike is bcus of engine.
lighting is similar because the doomtec engine uses real time lighting.
(in terms you would understand: thats no RAD compiler )
real time lighting means decreased refraction/diffraction etc.
guns are awsome
storyline is good
you get to blow up stuff
cool boss hp indicator - health and shields
and your legs get chopped off and replaced with metal ones halfway through the game

.....did i mention you get to blow up stuff?

btw: no physics puzzles lolz
