I've been getting a problem with half-life for a long time now that i thought getting a new video card would fix but it dident. I've asked about it on the steam fourms but no one can help well if they can they don't answer, but anyway heres the problem:Most Func_train kind of things sping out of control (not lifts) but for example things like the intro train on HL, moving trucks (like the ones in timefall)if youve played that)) And also the same kind of thing with cameras (cutsecnes) shake and look ways they arnt suppost to.If it helps ive got a AMD k6-2 400mhz, ati RADEON 9200SE, 384mb of RAM. Please help me.

EDIT: I hope i should have posted it here.

might be a problem with the games old registry files. you could try uninstalling it, removing all hl registry files (this is deadly if you delete the wrong files but) and running a defrag before reinstalling it. I'd look for some guides on the net for the registry part. i had a similiar problem were hl would not do transparent textures or animations right. but it could be too much hassle if you run it through steam, just uninstall it and defrag before you put it back on for safety.

Im not recommending the registry part if its avoidable

Omg, hearing about these sort of problems give me nightmares!
<rowleybob dashes under the bed and crys/screams for mother>

I'm quite the noobie when it comes to things technical, but I seem to recall instability issues with the k62 processors with certain motherboards and video cards, especially ATI.

But considering your old card did the same thing, I'm going to hazard a guess that your motherboard may be the culprit.

This doesn't sound like a software thing to me, but I would do as Strider says to try and rule it out.

Good Luck :

The old video card was an old ati rage 128 pro so it might just be to do with the video card, yes now that i think about it, i probably is, because it only started happening when i got the ati card and the old one it came with an then the aopen one we got when the one it came with broke, it started happening. Thanks for that rowley you've been a big help :D

I've never had this problem before, but it does sound like a malfuntioning video driver.
