I am having an issue with hammer, I have recently completed my map and went to go compile. Before that I have compiled it twice and I have constructed alot since the 2nd build. I went to go compile today and when it runs it plays the 2nd build which is very old. How do I get hammer to compile the current build? It is saved to the newest version and when I open the map it opens the newest build. My newest version is saved over the old build.

Maybe you forgot to Export to Map...

there is Export to .DXF not to MAP

Re-check that there are no compile errors. Sometimes it looks like the compiling went fine but it didnt. The map you load in-game is the last succesfully compiled version. It's happened to me before.

there are no problems, i even did a "check for problems" and said no errors, nothing unusual in the compile process other that maybe an invaid texture.

Check the modified date on the bsp file to see if the compiled map is really appearing in the folder you want.

I thought bsp files only worked if they were in your
...SteamSteamAppsusernamecounter-strike:Sourcecstrikemaps or something like that, not in the sourcedsdk_content folder...

once u compile it runs it from the sourcedsdk_content folder, btw I have sent it to my friend and he has the same problem.

something like that happened to me when it compiled with errors.
Try to delete/move the .bsp from the folder and recompile, see what happens.
I bet you'll get an error :)

yeh i did that already and says i cant find the map, cuz i thought it would remake another .bsp and when i hit continue anyway it loads the old build still

would maybe another compilier make it work?

A problem occurs during compile which causes the compile tools not to build the .bsp. So, the old one isn't overwritten, and you get to play the old one. This also explains why you get the "can't find map" message after you deleted the old .bsp - there is no new .bsp being built.
The old .bsp is still in the game maps folder though, so you still get to play that version (with the usual settings, a .bsp is built in the map where it's .vmf is stored, then it's copied to the game maps folder).

Perhaps you can post your latest compile log?

I think the "bounds out of range" is probably the one preventing the bsp from being created.

Bounds out of range looks like either a too large brush (outside the grid in Hammer), but probably an extremely tiny or messed up brush. Take a look at the brushes whose number is given, I think you're best off removing them and recreating them.

Oh, and bytheway, that log shows all your compile logs. Next time, only post the log of the last compile (may be a little searching to get the right part, but saves some post length here ;)).
