A model perhapes? Don't see any cost-effective way to do it with particles.

But in begining I wanted to do it in a skybox but doing it completely it would be wasting time and i used to do an animated image, but now I want it on the ground lik if u get it get off so far. Looking it like that u think its just something like to do a monorail, but imaginating it its so fool. :o

An animated texture in the skybox would work very well...This one guy made a 2D image of a plane that flew above the map in the skybox.

I wanna create a real torando on the ground where you play and not in the skybox.

( hunter is begining to be horrible, we all know that so can you stop talking about this? )

i would do a giant cone shape with an additive wind texture on it. Have it rotate around really fast. If you're using spirit, you can tell it to move with a train on a path.

i would also attach and func_push to move with it so when it nabs you up like michael jackson, it tosses you high into the air then fall to your death with a splunch.

The most hating shit in creating a tornade is
  • build the wind texture
  • the place it would take
but I like this idea

Hmm Good luck, show us how it turns out!

something called Func_motor and i attach it with the tornado and the trigger_push to make a rotation and I do another one to make my tornado moving

You can parent sprites to objects in Source.. can't you?
Just an idea, have you thought of making putting several dust-cloud sprites in the shape of a tornado (in rings, stacked upon eachother, that grow in size each layer) look at the image.

Shocking pic i know but it'll suffice.

Then parent every sprite to an invisible, spinning, non-solid brush in the middle, thus making all the sprites spin around but retain the tornado shape. It's a little hard to explain, but do you get it? Oh and i wouldn't go overboard with the number of sprites, i'd keep it as little as possible.

Yeah you mean like this tornado?

I forgot about this, the tornado has so much details in it. But it's not always a simple cone, maybe I wanna do something like this http://www.net-pratique.fr/images/wallpapers/archives/webwall_159.jpg .

Using a func_rotating is an easier way to get something to rotate.

But for best effects, modelling is the way to go - animating them allows for more interesting patterns than simple rotations alone.
