Hmmm seems to me that the only excuse for people NOT reading the tutorials is "Im a newbie"...

Be nice:-) everyone has to start somewhere, and if you don't know that all you need to do is make a door, then the forum is a great place to start ed:(Andy)

Seventh-Monkey linked to the 'func_train' tutorial, but it sounds like a 'func_door' may work as well, and they are simpler. Now click on the "browse all" button under the tutorials and get reading! :P

the main difference between doors and trains is that trains move to the pathcorneres given, while doors movement is controlled by thier size, for example, a 30 unit wide door will move 30 units providing it moves on its width. if its only 5 units high itll move 5 units up or down, depending on which direction its set.

Unless you set a lip. Negative lip will make the door move further than its own depth, a positive lip will mean, well, for example a 30-unit door with a lip of 5 would only move 25 units. With a lip of -5 it'd move 35.
