Prefabs. Link / http://prefabs.gamedesign.net . Boring? Nooooooo. There are 1544 prefabs for hl. 1544! And they are useful. So why dont we put a prefab section (Mr.good prefabs will be my new name) up. It will be useful. trust me.
:D
MGM (ps. plz do it)

Indeed...I'm sick of prefabs now...What happened to the days where people enjoyed making detailed tables etc...

It's best to put your own personal touch on your maps, so it is truley YOUR map, not 80% yours 20% other peoples prefabs.

ED: And your name's not going on anythin'. :P

prefabs are great! I often use prefabs for things I dont know how to make in HL or CS so then I learn something for next time! Just recently I used an elevator prefab in a map, and know I've made a transporting device which uses an env_shake, and I actually know how the env_shake works!

That site might be taken down, cant say anything on the timespan.

I'm all for this if i get to submit some hl1 prop models that would be common to all of the modding going on around here. Stuff that'd be tricky to build and texture in hammer or too heavy on the engine, but deem worthy of being a prop.

meh.

Never used prefabs. I do it the old fashioned way: I construct things myself. ;)

oh noes! prefabs are like 17kb btw lol.
a rmf for a full map which is like, 1.5mb zips down to 97% or something like that.
prefabs get bigger bcus idiots submits useless .BSP's with the .RMF as well :)

The point is, not many of us have a real use for prefabs. Considering there's already a large number of prefab sites around, I really don't think it's a nessecary thing to have.

Models are useful, because they're... not mapping. Prefabs? Nah.
