Hi, im so sorry if im being a noob but i would really like to make lava for my new map :) and ive spent about 30minutes toying with func_water to make an orange color like lava with no luck :S so any help is great!!!!

its just a matter of having the right texture. There isn't one in the main half-life.wad, but deathmatch classic has one. Just use that, tie it to func_water and set contents to lava

Jobabob, it's for HL1... Although if this was in "Half-Life Engine Discussion" like it's supposed to be, there wouldn't be any confusion about these things.

dang deathmatch classic doesnt have lava texture :(

I believe for my "lavalab" level I just used "!fluid2" which is in one of the standard WAD files -- because that was my first level, long before I even considered using non-"standard" textures. I don't actually have my RMF file handy, but I'm pretty sure it was "!fluid2".

And then, to make it look good, I added a suitable light colour to that texture in my RAD file...

Admittedly it still looks a little too fluid to be lava, but it's pretty effective...
