any tips on reducing clipnodes...?

yes i read the article on tommy14, but i was nothing but confused.

What have you tried? Tommy's page lists a lot of things like:

-Skybox as little as possible.
-Try Nem's batch compiler or others to trim clipnodes
-look at the example map listed

I don't really even know what clipnodes are, but check out this also from tommy's:
all the 3d 'space' a player can get to is broken up into convex regions
So maybe if you clip/sky any open-air regions of your map where the compiler "thinks" a player may want to walk, but you know they won't, it will cut you clipnodes down.

Throw an map in the problems section too if you want, and somebody is sure to take a crack at it.

Place over places the player could never get to them a brush textured with the clip texture on all sides.
