Please people, LINK TO BIG IMAGES. B0rked widths are awful, not to mention horizontal scrollbars.
Posted 17 years ago2006-06-12 22:06:42 UTC Post #184883
I want a link to that background o_O

What do you guys use? Still using shitty 3rd party programs for your themes that steal CPU? :o

Big change for me! I hardly ever get new themes or do anything with my wallpaper..

And no Luke, they probably did same thing as me and replaced uxtheme.dll file so that custom skins work? At least thats what I did (zombie did too I thinkand I've seen that first one on a site for em)

Pardon white space on bottom of the image, I did it in paint real quick (pasting)
Posted 17 years ago2006-06-12 22:33:29 UTC Post #184886
Yah, thats what i did. Helps a lot.

And themes are usally made for both visual styles and a 3rd party program. So you cant judge based off of that. :o

Luke, if you meant my background:

I'm using the modified UXTheme.dll as always. Reigns supreme.

I would change the theme and I wanted to earlier however it messed up my uxtheme.dll so bad I had to change it back.

Crowded desktop ftw! I like to be able to get to things quick and it is all organised perfectly for me.

Ive used double height ever since I got a 5:4 monitor, you get the extra vertical room for it and it helps with mapping (when I mapped anyway)

TawnosPrime: When you've uploaded the pic, there's a line that says like "Thumbnails for forums". Copy that, and replace the url= with a link straight to the image, not my.php.

Pr0n, files of questionable legality or secret mapping project peices? You be the judge. Oh and I forgot to mention, bonus points for whoever recognizes them (the characters in the pic, not the files).

Jo, you can actually see what some of those are?! I can olny make out the common Windows stuff, no game icons.

Habboi, technically u are hidding the stuf on your desktop by having the pic and such a small size that it's hard to impossible to make out the text.

And does noone here know/care who that is in my background? You ppl need to get a life, OFF OF THE COMPUTER!!!

Why do people bother posting when they have the standard Windows theme?
Posted 17 years ago2006-06-18 22:45:35 UTC Post #185756
The theme, at least in my opinion, isn't the focal point of a desktop. When u see a desktop, is the first thing that catches your eye the accents that are provided by the theme or the LARGE image plastered in the background? The theme complements the background. It's the choice of image that really drives the desktop, not how u accentuate it.

When I change my wallpaper - I also change my winamp skin. I never bother changing the themes, since I find the default one the least attention-consuming (good thing, when mapping/coding).

@Seventh: Well.. Sonmetimes it stays disconnected for 10 mins after the bootup, although it's ok generally.
