how do u make transparent glass?
i read the glass tutorial and set fx render to 50 on func_wall, but it is still not transparent.... :(

do i have to use a glass texture?

i don't have any.....

if u have to have glass texture where can i find it?

i tried to make it using wally... and put { in the beginning of the texture name.
but when compiled and tested the "glass" had no texture showing up as
pink and plack chekered board.

plz help me..... :D

To make glass, you need to apply a glass texture on a brush. So use the texture browser to find a suitable glass texture (you can filter on glass to search more efficient)

Now make a new brush, select it and tie it to a func_wall. Open its properties and set rendermode to texture, and fx amount to 50.

Done.

You can also have breakable glass. For that, you need to turn your brush into a func_breakable.

did you try putting the newly created .wad you made in wally into your czero,or cstrike folder.

black and purple textures means the .wad is missing

buy my custom wad still dose not work

and yes it is in my cstrike folder
....

another proplem how do u make a cylinder to face sideways (in camera view)
i can only make it face vertically (in camera view)

Rotate the cylinder. To do that, click on the cylinder twice to get the "four circles around" the cylinder. Then, rotate it over to lay down in a side view.

oh yeah and something interesting i found about unbreakable glasses
it is not unbreakable..... a hit by a grenade (not its explosion) would break it.... :D (atleast in cs)

i tought u might want to know.

To make it unbreakable you need to tie it to a func_wall not a func_breakable. ;) If it's a costum texture and you want the glass to produce the same sounds as a normal glass you'll need to edit the material.txt... check the tutorial.

you should use -wadinclude on your compile (CSG I think) if you use custom wads.

for unbreakable glass.... if you set the material type to unbreakable it will not break.

Correction. Black and purple means that the wad is there, but that specific texture isn't in the wad.
If your textures aren't showing up ingame then I am probably correct in saying that you've updated this set of textures once or twice? if so, odds are you are mapping with the updated set, but haven't actually sent the updated textures to your cstrike folder.

Tick the "trigger only" flag to fix that :)

so worlcraft dude so what do u want me to do recopy the wad file to the cstrike folder?

the thing is this happened with not edited wad files too so......
maybe i should only use 8 or less wad files per mapping.....

oh yeah i forget to mention something on glass glitch...
it was set up as func_breakable with unbreakable flag checked......
the thing is that the glass was bullet proof but not "hit by flying grenade" proof. :quizzical:

for the RenderMode, I'd consider using 'Addictive' with a low number like 20-50 instead of 'Texture'
Just a tip, it looks realer

Check the following settings: Render Mode - Texture, Render FX - 50 to 200 and the 'glass' texture. Check this tutorial for more info.
