Everytime I turn on my computer I have to choose a username, I only have 1! How do I make it so when I turn on my computer It automatically chooses the only username?

Is it passworded? I guess not, but if it is, remove the password.

Anyhow, I'm really not sure, but mess around in Control Panel -> User Accounts and see what you can do.

Hmmm... Sometimes secondary "invisible" accounts are created automatically, like when you install the .NET Framework, and it'll mess up that ability to log you in automatically because there's actually more accounts than you can see. At least that's what happened to me.

or you could add a passworded account (because its stupid not to) and use powerxp to autologin, assuming you have decent physical security for the pc

O be careful, a new virus is out and it is said hackers use it to make 'invisible' accounts :o

whats with the cynicism seventh? Having no password is really stupid as every windows service will only be protected by a plain text username

Windows passwords are awful security in fact. I can get the admin password with the trinity rescue disk in minutes. And can reset any password to whatever I want. If I want in to any windows machine, it's will only take me 5 minutes at most to do it.

Read post above that mentions physical security for flips sake. If you don't secure your machine from theft or tampering theres not a lot you CAN do to protect it. Please give me an argument that having a password is worse than not having one.

I have a mousetrap at the switch that opens the case, I'd say that's plenty sufficient!

Zombie: I'm sure they'd have a great time playing your mousetrap that they forget about stealing your PC.
