Hello :)

Is there any way to make a soccer ball? I don't mind about its poor shaping or texturing, but I don't know how to make a rough ball or sphere. Can someone show me how or point me to an example map? Thanks!

use the search feature please. It was coded for a reason.

Searching the word 'sphere' in the maps category got this. That was hard :glad:

You can get a perfect sphere by just making one in MS3D and exporting it as a MAP file, so you can use it in Hammer.

Hunter: Yes, I know there are perfect spheres, but it's sort of complicated and going to cost a lot of polies... I was looking for simpler ones not made with tons of brushes.

There's a soccerball model in the tfc cache file, maybe you can use that?

There is actually a tutorial about making cones and spheres in the internet but yea...like hunter showed..there is also pepper's example map.So if you are looking for a simpler one you have to make it yourself.

Quite easy if you only want to make the outside.

I google imaged "soccer ball" and noticed it's made out of 5 and 6-sided shapes. You could make the whole thing out of pentagonal/hexagonal spikes, with absolutely no brushing errors.

Still, you'll only be able to roughly approximate the shape of the ball because you'd be using flat faces, instead of the curved ones of a real ball.
