I'm having some trouble setting up the config for Hammer 3.5. I'm pretty sure i have everything right, or almost everything, but i keep getting an error that says "Fatal Error: Could not find filesystem dll to load." I'm not sure what could be wrong, i have the dll folder and mp.dll in my cstrike folder. Anyone had this problem before? This also comes up in my clipboard load for the map run ::

SolidBSP [hull 0] 7 (0.00 seconds)
Warning: No entities exist in hull 0, no filling performed for this hull
SolidBSP [hull 1] 7 (0.00 seconds)
Warning: No entities exist in hull 1, no filling performed for this hull
SolidBSP [hull 2] 7 (0.00 seconds)
Warning: No entities exist in hull 2, no filling performed for this hull
SolidBSP [hull 3] 7 (0.00 seconds)
Warning: No entities exist in hull 3, no filling performed for this hull

You may find this tutorial usefull: http://twhl.co.za/tutorial.php?id=86

"Warning: No entities exist in hull 1, no filling performed for this hull"

This pretty much tells you that your map does have entities. To fix, put in a player start position and a light or lightsource (texture light).

I have tried alot of tutorials, and this one if by far the best. Now, i followed the directions exactly, and i have everything exactly in place, even my map. I have all the ZHLT's set up as well. I am still getting the same old error saying

Fatal Error
Could not find filesystem dll to load.

And I do have entities in this map, its just a simple box with a starting character position and a light right above him. I just set this up so i could keep testing my config.

I'm really stumped, and i've tried a couple forums for help on this one, but S.O.T.E told me this one usually fixes the problems.

Are you sure it's a hollow room, not just a single brush you created?

Yes, there is a small tutorial called "In the Beginning" by Andy on this site. I used his instructions to make that little map i have. Its just a square with a starting character position and a light above the starting position. I made sure i created the square and i hollowed it to 32. then i added 2 entities, the starting position, and the light. and created both of those. :( No ideas?

Ok so... i don't know what the hell i did but, under the menu once you go to run, i went to Expert, then i clicked go, and for some reason, the game launches. I'm not sure why it wouldnt launch from the regular normal menu.... but i guess i've figured it out lol. I can't believe it was as simple as that. Thanks for the help guys, if i have any more problems i'll ask away. Appreciate the help!

You probably didn't check the little box that allows you to run the map after the compile.

Expert mode?!? :aghast: Try the normal mode for your first maps and only after you learned most of the basics learn how to compile maps with the expert mode.

Elon, it really doesn't matter, it just gives you more options. You don't have to know anything more about compiling than you do normally, but you can use expert mode much better if you do.

Yes but it's also harder to use at first.

What happened to "The Compilator"?
Posted 17 years ago2006-11-13 18:12:56 UTC Post #202650
Half-Life Compilation Engine = The Compilator. I changed the name. Sounds more "powerfull" with "Engine" in the name. :)

No, thats not what i was saying guys lol. What i said was that i could'nt get my map to run on CS when i went to "Run" then clicked Normal. So i tried experimenting with the different settings. I clicked on "Expert" and clicked go, and it launches my map. I didn't even check any new settings. Not really sure why it wont run using Normal, but i guess I'll just stick with Expert for now.

I already told you, it didn't automatically launch the game because you had to check one of the little options boxes. But hey, whatever works for you.
