Hey, I've seen that before...
I think it was called de_wanda then, though.

Looks amazing.
it is absolutely gorgeous and only a 160mb download.
Only? :P
I doubt many CSS players will want to wait for a 160mb download when joining a server for 1 map. Though looks incredible.

No kidding.

And it`s still called de_wanda, ZL.

OR you could download it from a mirror before running it online

My computer ran it OK even with HDR, but It's really not playable once you have player and hostage models around.
It had good and bad things, like most maps do. Not all of them are mappers mistakes, by the way. I find the vertexlit system for models to be a horrible part of the Source engine. It doesn't only happen with props used in custom maps, mind you. Play "Dark Messiah of Might and Magic" and you will find tons.
At least the map had things we hadn't seen many times before. Waterfall, the big models, hot air balloons etc.

True. But im talking about the average CSS player...but wait...the average CSS player is only interested in Killboxes anyway, so it doesnt matter.

Need to play this fucking map. :D

Models are not lit with lightmaps. That's why sometimes they look crap and out place amongst the brushwork. The bigger the model, the bigger the problem.

De_wanda? I saw that ages ago. Its phenominal.
I'd recommend checking out de_corse, if you haven't seen that either.

Ok, I just finished walking through this map and all I have to say is...OMFG. It is beautiful, and so detailed. I don`t recommend this map if u have a sub par computer though. My 128MB Radeon X300 was getting about 10 fps in the 'colossi' room.

but what makes them so heavy :. I thought there was a limit to things you could do in a map. is that shit stuffed with leaks (highly unlikely) or why is it so heavy

dunno, but im afraid to dl it, just cause ive got 1 gig of ram and an ati 256mb x700. i dun want my pc to go boom.

go ahead saw. I have a 128MB x300 and a 1 gig of RAM and my PC survived. In fact, I`d say my memory and CPU go through greater turmoil when I try to compile an experimental map in source.

I have this map, and the models certainly are impressive, but the rest of the map is why it's worth downloading. It is kinda pointless though, seeing how most of the map is playable, then when you reach the large room with the two giants, people's computers are either too slow to play properly, or the people themselfs are too distracted by the pretty models and lighting.

De_wanda is a 100% custom content map, there's your reason.
