If you downloaded a .map file, just go to you current map in hammer, and go file -> open, and choose your prefab.
Then, copy the prefab (ctrl+c) and paste it in your map (ctrl+v) :D

or you just can download a prefab, make a prefab folder and put it in there. Then while in hammer, goto tools and prefab factory. Then either add a new type of prefab file thingy or just put it in an existing one. Then you can edit the name and profile. Or edit the prefab itself if it comes with a room. There you go! :)

Eh, a .mdl file?

Prefabs are not mdl files, atleast not the type of prefabs im thinking of.

Put it in models folder, and make a monster_generic or something ,cant remember...
Posted 20 years ago2004-04-06 23:44:34 UTC Post #21530
Or monster_furniture.
And try to keep to one topic, compile logs have nothing t do with Prefab/Models

Try making a brush with clip texture (clip brush) around the model so you cant walk tru it
Posted 20 years ago2004-04-07 05:46:08 UTC Post #21558
I made a flushable toilet with rising and lowering water, green water, poo and a working seat AND real noises! You want to use that instead? Ask me if you do.
