TWHL3 feature - Polls!

Anyway, what (Half-life 1/2) mod do you think had the best training level? It doesn't have to actually be a training level, but the map that is selected for it (If you know what I mean)

My top 2 would have to be:

Azure Sheep - Pre-disaster thingy
Poke 646 - Bootcamp (I think :D) , but better than opposing force.

We already have polls, we just don't have one running at the moment.

As for the training level, I rather liked Opposing Forces.

Rather liked Poke646's and OpFor's

I can't think of many mods with custom training levels.

Do you mean in mods that people have made, or add-ons that are technically just mods, like Opposing Force and Blue Shift?

I forgot about that one! Yes, definitely Afraid of Monsters.

OP is nice, but the training course in HL1 is still the most fun. Replayed it lots of times, while I never finished normal HL1 SP (Yeh, Xen sucks okay? MP ftw anyways.)

never finished normal HL1 SP
Not even with cheats on? D:

Never quited because it was to hard, Xen just wasn't fun.
I know the end tho, just changed to last map. Hehe. ;)

Yeah, Xen was bullshit.

But would you rather have it drop off and never know where all of those creatures came from? :

rimrook is right... i never finished it w/o cheats cuz my saved game right after Gonarchs lair got overwrote

(Although with half-life source i can probably cheat to the last level, then start my game right after gonarchs lair from the menu and then start it up in normal goldsrc half-life)

Xen is simple. I finished it many times without cheats.

Xen was hardest when I had to jump from one of those flying alien rays to a platform.

I think it took me more than ten tries. It was getting a bit frustrating.

But I like the training session for Half-Life 2. It's seamlessly incorporated into the game itself (i.e. the train station to Eli's lab).

Xen was easy for me, but I have a lot of FPS practice...
I didn't like the Xen part of HL. Didn't like it at all.
Gotta download Poke646, never played it :(

Omg its amazing. Get Vendetta as well.
The hazard course is a classic / my favorite valvE trainer.
But other than that, I like the training level in Call of Duty.

OPforce was kinda cool. Gave you a feel for who you were, and it was kinda fun to do.

You can select the monsters that spawn in the "safe zone" and then you can fight against them etc. Its great! I played this training level about 2 hours and i was not bored or you can spawn monsters from earth and from xen and watch them fight and see the "special attacks" featured in ssh

Its so fun
