:x My hammer all of a sudden today gets super slow! I restarted it cause sometimes my comp just gets slow for some reason but it was still slow! It took like five minutes just to make a new map and then like 10 seconds every time I do something (ex. pressing enter after making a box). My 3D view box is fricken annoying now cause I try to move and its like .5 frames per second :o ! Is there a reason for this that may not be realated to my computer's speed? Incase someone wants to know i think its a 1.6 gig CPU and 512 mg memory...

Have you scanned for Viruses lately? Have you run ScanDisk? Disk Clean-up? Try these first, then try a defrag. If it still doesn't work, then try reinstalling Hammer.

Perhaps reinstall/upgrade DirectX and/or your graphics card drivers.

Hammer does that occasionally, it is always a good time to save the work your doing.
If it continues, decrease the amount of Undo Levels in the Tools>Options>general settings.
Or do what anthony suggested, there is a ggod chance that it is Memory related and you might have something running in the background that you didn't know about.

Increase the Virtual Memory.

If you're on XP or 2000, press C+A+Del and look at the process list.

decrease your swap space for extra speed

No, don't, lol, that's pretty dodgy advice unless you're using several gig already.

i got 1024. if you got 512. it should be possible. but i said itwrong. windows uses a place to put transfer files in for your memory. you cna disable that wich shoudl save you awful lot of space on c:. i saved 600mb. my dad 1000 mb. and my comp was a bit quiker :)

Are you talking about System Restore?

no. your memory uses transfer space in xp wich you cna turn down if you have double memory and 512 ore higher. i got 1024: :P

Pepper, reducing the size of the pagefile/swapfile will not improve performance afaik, even on high-memory systems. It'll only be used if it's necessary.
