When I tried to start Steam today (just 15 minutes ago), I came across a problem. I saw no "Logging in..." box. I opened task manager, and I saw Steam was running. So I double-clicked a game shortcut from my desktop. Nothing. I deleted ClientRegistry.blob (blob... =D) and tried again. Steam popped up with the "Updating" box and updated... hope restored, just to crash a burn. From there, once it finished, nothing happened. I restarted and tried again... still nothing.

Any ideas?

I spose it's worth a shot. Although it'll probably take an hour with backing up my stuff. =)

Edit: Quicker than I thought. But ultra-fail. Virus/Spyware scan time.

Steam is generally fucked, startup or no startup. I hate it. :combine:

Happened to me before as well. Ultimately I gave up with it, but it was working again the next day. :

It ended up being crappy Virus/Spyware protection. Deleted all that shit, and it turned out I reinstalled Steam for nothing. =)

Chances are half those viruses I didn't get myself, but obtained over the Network. (We have liek 14309480234 computers) I'd like to be my own network, but that's also how I connect to the internetz.
