I'm trying to build my house in Worldcraft just for the smell of it.

What I didn't notice in the H-L main game was that gordon apears to be about 3 and a half foot tall. I know what you're going to say, change the size of the house/make it shorter. No, it wouldn't look right.

Can I make gordon taller, it it possible?

Its possible, but it would require coding. Don't ask me how.

just put an invisible brush on the floor so hell walk on that and you'll seem taller.
Stairs could be a bitch tho.

You'll really need to scale your brushwork. Working to exact measurements, be them metric or imperial is not a great idea when mapping. The mapping in HL was all scaled perfectly for Gordon's height, so it didn't look weird. Can be a bit time consuming, but it should produce better results.

Yeah. You can imagine how EVIL the "rats" maps were to make.

He probably scaled everything to proportion. Say, taking an average human's height and scaling it to a twentieth of that - though that cannot be done so instead he scaled the MAP x 20.

The invisible brush concept would be OK, but would take a lot longer than what could be considered reasonable time.

Give him some steriods or growth hormones like they give them to cows.

Fisrt off, use Hammer, not Worldcraft. And that "it wouldn't look right" crap you just pulled doesn't work baby, you can make it look just the same, if you also scale the textures down! Then nobody can tell the differens and the map would turn out just like you want it to do. Use the "info_player_start" as a guide when you don't know if it will work.

Cheers!

A tip if you still want to do the stupidity-related concepts, some floor textures (such as tiles), if scaled down, make it appear as though you are taller.

That wouldn't help out with, well, not-floors, though.

That's a pretty careless thing to do though, considering that your w_polys will go through the roof. I like to keep the textures on my main architecture (and most other things really) scaled to 1.00.
