VM is by far my favourite tool. -And out of that, vertex scaling.
Posted 20 years ago2004-04-17 06:43:15 UTC Post #22839
The path tool creates a row of path_tracks/corners.
I find it easier to manually create them loz

I like the "New map" tool as well. Without that, we wouldn't be able to START mapping. Hmm, I really should get back into mapping and stop editing models :P

Yes we could, we could define a .MAP in Notepad (or similar), then open it in Hammer ;)

Worst tool... the carving one then. I carve manually using the vertex tool. Much better, much more predictable... :)
Posted 20 years ago2004-04-22 00:22:17 UTC Post #23399
vertex tool!!!!

I can not figure it out LOL. I Carve once in a great while but still can't use the vertex tool It crashes the map.
Posted 20 years ago2004-04-22 07:33:10 UTC Post #23432
Same here- I can't stand it- Way too hard to control--I'd resort to clipping any day.

What is so bad about V.M? If you press the '[' key you can shrink the grid thus making your Vertex Manipulation attempts more precise. LEARN TO USE VM!

Yes I know about the [ key, but I still have trouble with it. I read all the tutorials, and I can do most things in it easily(Landscapes, Tunnels)
but when It comes to making a simple truck, I always screw up, I end up using seperate peices.

Ofcourse you cant make a whole complex brush (say a truck) using VM.
Invalid solid structure?

The clip tool is the best tool as I would say!
