For some reason, the water I'm trying to put in the level is invisible, no matter what I set it to. I've put water in levels plenty of times before, but I've never had this problem. Has using Spirit got anything to do with it?

Thanks again.

Ive had this problem before. Make sure the water is a SOLID, not a brush based entity (Such as func_wall or anything). Second, make sure the water texture name you are using has a "!" prefix. Thirdly, make sure that same texture is applied to ALL faces of that solid. And lastly, use the "Check for problems" to ensure that the water brush is not broken. Make sure there are no vertex/face errors...make sure you haven't carved the water brush or clipped the brush. For safety purposes, delete the entire water brush, and add it again, making sure it is a pure cube, with no transformations or anything.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does func_water still exist for Half-Life?

Yes it does. To get water/slime/lava act like water/slime/lava, you need to turn the entity into func_water. If you don't, the water will cast shadows which is rediculous of course.

Also note that if you have multiple brushes that make up the water area, you need to func_water each individual brush, otherwise only one brush will be visible as water, while the other brushes dissapear. I guess this is your problem. So take each individual brush and turn each one in into a func_water.

hmm... ok, that helps. heres another question. Can you make a water brush anything other than a cube? (Such as a wedge, spike, etc.)

yes. but if it's a func_water, only the top (x/y plane) will be visible.
And each face of the brush has to be the same texture, but im sure you know that already.

Is it textured properly? What are the entity's render settings?
