I'm a member of both but I prefer TWHL. I think because the Snarkpit site is a bit more complicated. I dunno, maybe it's the pretty colours :nuts:

As for your gravity gun code, it is possible, I have an idea how to get it to work but "HOW" to make it work is beyond my coding skills right now.

Yeah.. gravity gun would be very hard to do. You need physics, that's kinda the point. It's just a physics toy.

So what you want is, a "gravity" gun that performs the same functions as the use key on pushables?

Because that's about as far as you can get without some pretty crafty code work.

There's some mod here that uses physics...Arrange Mode, that's what it's called. Strange name that is. Anyway, I think they use a Gravity Gun, but I'm not sure. Check their ModDB profile, they stopped updating us here months ago, since we had a fairly negative reaction to that mod. :P

I wanted one too but I came up with something different while working on 6D. If it would help I may share the 6D code with you.

It introduces the Kinesis Technology by Daubster thats entirely new to the GoldSource Engine. Its no grav gun but you can manipulate your environment a little better than the grav gun does, plus it involves no further physics than what is already in the game.

Well the code part is still being built, but it may work for what you need. There's also lots of other goodies in the mod that aren't heavy on the comp as well. 6D is designed to accommodate the mapper and the modder alike using minimal 'heavy' aspects.

EDIT: wow, read through the stuff on that link. Very VERY impressive, could almost use that in 6D, but the 6D code is much more sophisticated and gives a more promising result with better control.

Although, damn impressive.

Do you even think before posting?
Calm down a bit and think about what you are doing.

This mod, it ain't gonna happen, deal with it.
So far I've only seen one of your maps, your door example map, and that one looked like something from wolfenstein 3D.

You are obviously new to mapping, we all were once.
I suggest starting easy, EASY.
Remaking HL2 for HL1 is not EASY, it's fucking hard and stupid!

I suggest that you try making some simple HL SP maps first, and release them here.
If they are good, then you might just earn enough respect for people to help you with future mods.

SIMPLE! And it makes sense.

The point of a mod is to do something you think people will like. If we wanted Half-Life 2 on the Half-Life engine, it'd probably be done already. Everyone in the world would rather play the original Half-Life 2 than a shitty looking remake, am I right?
If you really wanted to do something good, get your mapping skills up and make a nice single-player or multi-player map.

Yeah, there's absolutely no reason what so ever to remake a fairly new game on an age old engine. Remakes usually improves the gameplay experience, not the other way around.
