Ok, this isn't a mapping issue but I'm hopping someone here would be able to provide any insight on this.

There's a program called autowad that's supposed to change your cs spray automatically, but it doesn't seem to work. So I tried to make my own. Only problem is that when the tempdecal.wad file is replaced, CS (or the server) doesn't know that it has been, so it continues to use the previous spray that was loaded when you started CS. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell the server to poll the client for updated info about the tempdecal.wad?

As far as I know, the server acts as the master to everything, including the clients. If the server detects changes on the client end, it will reject those changes, either with an error or by reverting to the original version. It's a safety measure in place to ensure people are all playing the exact same map, rather than certain players using modified maps with the same name.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it's possible.

I remember having a custom spray in steam-CS some time ago. It's a bit of a bother though... the game has a habit of reverting to the default .wad every once in a while.

Replace tempdecal.wad with your own, start the game and try the spray. Don't touch any settings with the spray, or it'll probably be reverted.

The logo texture has to be named {LOGO, afaik, and has to be the only texture in tempdecal.wad.

The problem isn't with changing the spray as much as it is with changing the spray while CS is running. The program I made pretty that much changes the R/O setting, replaces the tempdecal.wad file with a wad file properly formated for another spray, then set R/O again. The thing is, CS does not detect the change in the wad file. CS has to be restarted before the new spray can be used... which defeats the purpose of having a changer for it. If Ant is correct, I'm just screwed.

I'm sorry why would you want to change it whilst steam is running? I mean, I guess it could be cool, but...
