Trigger a trigger_camera, say, with a trigger once. Set target of camera to another entity. Trigger it. Try that, see if you can do it ;)

Set it's path corner value to the name of a path_corner. Don't bother with a target.

OK. You're a bit stuck then. Doqnload pepper's movie time map. I think it has the RMF. But for some reason the camera freezes in high definition. But the RMF will tell you all you need to know.

It's an issue with the animation timings: people walk slower in the HD pack, for instance - compare the old gman with the new one. It's damn annoying :(

*download. No, the prob w/ movie time is that the cam gets embedded in the wall. :( And have you seen the gordon_scientist model from bshift? He walks REALLY fast. About 1.5, maybe 2 times as fast as a normal sci.
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-10 16:11:27 UTC Post #2451
So? He's never meant to walk, is he? Not up close, anyway! :)

umm...i got movie time, and the cam dont turn, and i dont hav the hd pack (less my friend gets it back from his uncles)
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-11 04:50:28 UTC Post #2485
The HD models were not designed for low end machines (low end meaning less than a pIII or the equivalent) - it says so in the manual

so i don't think moaning about their speed is justified - gordon was never ment to walk so i don't know...

You should really be testing your maps with the default models and software mode anyway
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-11 13:16:18 UTC Post #2508
Why? It looks SO much better and more realistic in high-def!
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-11 18:22:40 UTC Post #2520
Once again it is a case of expecting the engine to do what you want it to do, rather than what it was intended to do.
Take Kol's advice. Test with the default models and in software. It will improve your mapping, and it will reduce the amount of bug's you get.
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-12 04:01:06 UTC Post #2530
But if I'm reskinning models, they have SO many more skins to retexture, and with the high-def ones, they're all just thrown together so there are MANY fewer textures. Plus, barney looks so lame in low-def.
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-12 05:46:20 UTC Post #2540
You'll have to reskin BOTH sets of models them vassy... if you want a big enough aududience >> read the facts << most people use software
