My grid lines looks horrible. They size 2 pixels, do you know how to change that?

It's very annoying.

It's not only the appearence, I just discover the fucking buggy Hammer leave 1 "pixel" unit betwen 2 objects, so if you create 2 brushes and you don't adjust it on the fucking same pixel on the line, it leave a space between the brushes.

Goto Tools --> Options --> 2D Views and check the Grid settings.

Yes... but there's no "I don't want a 2 pixels buggy grid" option there. Can it be my screen resolution? it's 1600 x 1050.

I don't actually see a problem really. Looks like a fine grid to me. So im not really sure what the real problem is...

I don't see a problem either. The size of the grid lines should be totally unimportant. It is intended to have bigger lines every 8 units. The other lines should be fine like that - regardless how many pixels. If you have "snap to grid" selected (which should be selected by default) there should be no gaps between brushes, as long as both brushes share the same grid line.

Pay attention on some of the "normal" lines, some are 1 pixel width and another ones 2 pixel. I'm not talking about the highlighted ones.

Well I'll try to map but it's so anoying to have a grid like that.

Ooooh. Now that you mention it...

I got the same thing, and i run 1600*1200. So its probably some little glitch in Hammer. Guess you can't do anything about it...

Pedant! ;)

Now I see what u mean. Still I think it's just a cosmetic issue.

That happens to me aswell on 1400x900. Hammer can't fully handle widescreen, I suppose.

Ok,don't worry about that. I have another question about source but I don't want to open a thread for every noob question so I'm going to ask it here.

I'm making a custom material for Half Life 2 Deadmatch. I have Vtex on Steamsteamappsmyaccountsourcesdkbin folder.

TGA file is in Steamsteamappsmyaccountsourcesdk_contenthl2mpmaterialsrcmymap

And the output file should be created here:

Steamsteamappsmyaccounthalf-life 2 deathmatchhl2mpmaterialsmymap

But Vtex tells me there's an error with the folders. What am I doing wrong? I've followed the twhl tutorial.

Grid is fine here too, Hammer 3.4, Windows XP, at 1680x1050.

Edit: Just realised this in the Source Forums, but the grid is still fine in latest Hammer 4.1.

Just to show you how horrible it looks...

Is there a patch to fix it?
Posted 16 years ago2008-02-06 08:45:26 UTC Post #245086
It's fixed now. I had the antialiashing active on hammer so it was creating all those weird lines.
