I would like to throw this out to the site admins.....

Perhaps it would be a good thing for people to be able to EDIT their posts instead of posting immediate corrections or what-not directly afterwards.

What are you on about? You can edit your posts 100%. You just can't edit them if somebody else has already posted after you. Your post has to be the last one to be able to edit it. The Edit button is next to your name if you haven't noticed.

Why? He hasn't been here in forever and apparently never noticed... though the edit button has existed since forever.

Well actualy you can only edit it if you're the last poster, you should be able to edit it even if you aren't ...

if you can change your post after someone has already replied, then it can be abused to, for example, make the replier look stupid.

That's plaing logic, I knew that. But most of the time there are just minor mistakes and the post is really important (for example the first post of a thread)

Oh and the truck of fail is old. This suits better the actual situation :

For example Striker can't correct his spelling mistake ("plaing") after I have posted. Annoying, isn't it?

Unless you implemented a complex system, preferably using a spell-check system committed solely to the site itself, and then allowing editing based upon that (such as character removal limits and such) I don't really see a chance of it happening.

The current edit in effect is only used so you don't double post anyhow.
