Hey can anyone here possibly provide a program where I can load up a .wav file and then like hit a single button and have it delete all the cue points in it...and then save it in its original format that is without those cue points...?

Thanks in advanced...

BTW I have v2.1 of Cool Edit Pro but when I load up my wave file in it and then click on view>show cue list...it doesnt show any of the current cues that are in the file...

I know there are sum tho because every time I try to use it in my map once itll just keep repeating when it shouldnt...

I use Goldwave, works great and is really easy. I don't think it's one-click easy, but we aren't Amazon Shopping now are we?

Yeah, wav sounds with cue points will repeat indefinitely. I use Goldwave too, it's very easy and you can use the trial version indefinitely--tho i would recommend paying the low, one-time fee for registered use and unlimited updates.

If you want to do many .wav files at once, GoldWave may support batch processing--i don't know that it does--, but even if you have to do each file individually, it doesn't take long:

1. open file
2. edit/cue points/edit curpoints
3. if there are any cues, delete them and save.

keep in mind if you edit the original HL files, in order for them to work properly for someone else playing them, you'll have to include the edited waves. As a courtesy to other users, i would recommend using minimod format, or using subfolders, so you don't screw up other maps that user will use with those same wav files... make sense? If you're not using the original HL files, you don't have to worry about this.

There is an alternative to editing the cues too, you can use a mulitmanager to start and then stop the sound when desired, this way, you don't have to worry about including any edited sound files with your map (again, in the case you're editing the HL originals...)

I agree with srry, Goldwave is very useful (and pretty simple, too). I once got bored, so I used it to stitch together two songs so one came completely out of the left speaker and the other to come completely out of the right.

I have tried to use goldwave...and when I open it up in it...it says there are no cue points...but if I trigger the wave in my map it repeats indefinitely even tho I have the flag for it to not loop marked...

Cue points are marked in Goldwave by blue triangles located at the bottom of the WAV diagram. Right click on them and select delete.

Convert the WAVs to another format and then convert them back again...

yeah, in my experience, that flag doesn't do anything. Wav files with cues loop and those without cues don't, it's that simple. I've never had a problem like you're having before with editing cues... it's always been a rather straightforward thing imo...

Maybe post a link to the wav file in question? I'll test it myself if you want.

Dont click it...since there is a space in the file name...BBCode here sux and wont make the url proper...and so you have to highlight it all from the zip back to the http and then copy and paste it into your bar in top of browser and hit enter....

Here: "http://www.stixsworld.com/cued sounds.zip" it is all within the quotation marks...gotta copy and paste it...not click...the bbcode here needs much improvement...

your wavs need to be saved as 8-bit mono (using goldwave) or they won't work properly in HL. Yours are saved as 16-bit stereo!

Darkie, he did'nt use ..., he used --- there IS a difference. Besides, so what if he signs his name? That way we know his account has'nt been hacked.
EDIT: oh, he did use ... a lot. Still, don't criticize him about how he writes! Be nice or someone will give you a stern warning.

Excessive use of ellipses is not as bad as people who never punctuate their posts if you know what I mean right it is really annoying and hard to read and really just ends up giving you a headache so really it is good to make use of at least some form of punctuation and better to overuse it than not use it all.

They're puncuation for a small pause that's larger than a period pause. Let's not get into a fight over punctuation.
