What's the biggest game ever? According to Guinness World Records, it's upcoming racing game Fuel, which boasts a record-breaking 5,500 square miles of accessible, in-game terrain.
It's also larger than enormous games like Fallout 3 (which replicates much of Washington, D.C. and its surrounding area), fantasy worlds like those of World of Warcraft and Oblivion, and the vast metropolises of the Grand Theft Auto series.
"We knew FUEL was going to be big," said the game's producer Phil Wright, of Codemasters, "but to have this confirmed officially by Guinness World Records justifies our faith in this ground-breaking title. No other game comes close to offering the variety of environments, the range of vehicles or the sheer size of FUEL. It?s one of the most innovative racers ever, and we?re thrilled it?s been recognized as the biggest console game of all time."

That's larger than many perfectly good countries, including Jamaica, The Gambia, and Lebanon. It'll take you three hours to drive from one side to the other, and on your way you'll pass through 19 different environmental regions offering terrain types as diverse as deserts, rivers, forests and mountains. The record was officially confirmed at the London offices of Guinness earlier this week.
