Ok im making a map called cs_canyon_lab its basically a large canyon with an entrance to an underground cave/lab. The problem i keep incountering is that i cannot change the light level i change the 4th number in that 4 number box for brightness but the light always stays the same..ive tryed spot lights, regular lights, and enivroment light but still end up with the same problem.

You probably have a leak. This is where your map is not sealed off from the void outside. Check the compile log.

type pointfile into your console it will say reading pts and the give you somthin like this "XXX points read" XXX being a number then noclip around you map and look for a line of black and yellow dots fowlow the the dots and it should lead you to the leak.

Pointfile doesn't always lead to the leak. In some cases it does, but in most cases not.

One might notice an entitiy outside the level also counts as a leak. Either enclose them with a bruh or put them inside the level will solve that problem.

Oh and you should also use the new light.rad file, or edit it yourself, it is very straight forward, Just open the lights.rad file (in your worldcraft directory) you'll know what to do. Or search it on Google.

There's a tutorial here on Texture Lighting. I took the trouble of writing it, so go read it ;)
