Hello I've had this glitch ever since I can remember in Half-Life on both of my computers so I wonder if this is a commong problem. So when ever I try to hack to pieces a corpse of a monster in HL, the crowbar somehow start hitting extremely rapidly in a high frequency rate at the body until the corpse explodes into bits and pieces as it normally would. What is causing this problem and is there a way to fix it? If my description was unclear I can post a short video clip of the glitch if necessary.

I'm using the Steam version but I get the glitch also on the WON version. I get the problem all the time. It also happened in my old computer so I don't know how it is possible since the installations were completely independent from each other. Funny to notice that back in 1998 when I got the game on my old computer there was no such problem until a few years after that it became permanent.

I always assumed it was a bug valve accidentally coded in. I like it actually, it's like he digs into the corpse and then rips it up with the crowbar >:D
SoHL fixes it, however, I'm not sure if the latest WON patch does. I don't think so.

This is a bug that exists in HL WON version 1.1.1.0 and actually, i find it quite usefull. Imagine a dead monster blocking a door, you can easely gib it with the crowbar so that door can open/close completely again.

I also noticed a bug with the glock: when you shoot, two bullet holes appear, but only one round was taken from the magazine.

Yeah, there is that glitch too. Two shell casings also appear when that happens. :/

The crowbar thing happens to me all the time. Even in multiplayer.
Probably... 40% of the time i try to gib a corpse it does it like 400 times a second til it explodes. Then i reach the decal limit.

Classic HL bug. Nothing to worry about.
The second bullet bug only happens if you hold down primary fire, and I hope you know it's just an illusion.

Hmmm.. It's funny they never fixed this. The bug has been there for quite a long time..

Haha. I love this bug. It only seems to apply to corpses though but in HLDM it tends to happen if you get a kill with the crowbar. Blood goes everywhere! :D

My favourite glitch was one that happened years ago, towards the end of the game. An vort died near a rotating door and it jammed open. Then, whenever you stood over the vort's corpse your health would increase in single units (about 5 units per second)

My least favourite bug was with one of the early patches which made the game unplayable. This was around 1999 when I had no idea how to open the console (only my Dad's PC had internet access and it was a work computer)

You watched the intro sequence for 5 minutes and then at the end barney would walk to the tram and die on the spot. You couldn't get out of the fucking train! Me and my dad raged for weeks.

The best part of it was my Dad ended up setting up a LAN between his PC, mine and my sister's. My Bro-in-law, my Dad and myself spent 2 weeks playing Quake 1 from start to finish in co-op. It was good, there were many lulz. I know the game off by heart to this day. :P
