What the bloody hell is going on?

I played TF2 last night with no problems what so ever. This evening I've been trying to run HL2DM, TF2, CSS and Garry's Mod and every single one throws up an error message.

"Program has encountered a project and needs to close...(blah blah Microsoft blah)"

HL2 works and HL:Source works

Ep1 and Ep2 don't.

I've defragged game files, validated game files. I do not want to reinstall all this shit again!

Have you updated anything, like OS, drivers etc?

1) Try the clientregistry.blob thing, even though it's mostly for Steam errors.

2) Try using -autoconfig in the launch options to reset all the video settings and see if they're causing any errors.

Tried all the regular stuff including re-installs and nothing worked. Turns out that I had a couple of trojans on my system. Did a system restore and scanned for Malware and Spyware. Removed the bastards and now the games load.

Yay me. Gonna update my firewall.
