Just hitting the news wires now as I type this, long time actor Patrick Swayze has just passed away at the age of 57. For those of you here that remember, he stared in a bunch of movies, among them were: Red Dawn, Youngblood, Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Road House and others more. RIP.

I've never seen or heard of him before, but I'm sad. I'm always sad when I hear someone's died. :(
RIP, and my condolences to your family.

Never heard of him? Well, if you are willing to take the time, I strongly recommend you see Road House and Ghost when you get the chance, his two greatest movies, at least in my opinion. Now that his dead, I am sure people are going to start to saturate the torrent trackers with all his movies as a tribute. Pretty much the same thing happened when Michael Jackson died which led to the entire torrent circuit to be flooded by his music.

He played a good pedo creep in Donnie Darko, though I'm sure that's not how he'd like to be remembered.

Yea, I remember that from Donnie Darko. I might be wrong, but I think that was his only role as a "bad guy" he ever did. He always did the role of the hero in all the movies he performed in.

He always did the role of the pretty boy in all the movies he performed in.
Fixed.

No, he was a pretty good actor and will be missed. RIP indeed.
Ghost was a pretty great movie if memory serves correct. I'd recommend it alongside Tito, even though it's a chick flick.

Oh yes, Ghost is definitely a chick flick, but it is also a funny one too. Whoopi Goldberg had some really funny moments as a psychic being bugged by Patrick Swayze's ghost, that was classic. How ironic it is now....

Do we need a thread each time an actor dies?
I've never seen the guy, ever. And even if I would have seen him in a few movies I wouldn't have cared, unless it was like Tom Hanks or someone awesome.

I've seen Dirty Dancing and Ghost (both of which I agreed to watch after much pursuasion from the missus)

He was also in 'Keeping Mum' as a pervy Golf instructor. That was pretty funny.

I'm not overly bothered by this. Sure its a shame for his friends and loved ones, just like when anyone else dies.

Whoopi Goldberg totally ruined Ghost, along with every other movie she's ever been in. :P

Anyways, RIP Patrick Swayze

I first saw him from Dirty Dancing when the movie just came out in theaters.

That was so long ago (1987).

The film has become a chick-flick classic.

Nobody puts baby in the corner! (i can't believe noone said it..)

I hate all the movies that made him famous, but he was great in Red Dawn... Anyway RIP I guess. Thanks to the sensationalist print media, i'll always remember him as a skeleton. Aww... =' (

haha edit blocked you BITCH, how does it taste? =P

It's another reason i think we should have "preview" like for PMs, that way, you'd never have broken links, inglorious typos, and the like.

It is abit sappy during some parts, but the whole concept is brilliant.

I actually thought the special effects in Ghost were pretty decent for a film made in the 80's.
