I'm slap-bang in the middle of normal range, but the Body Mass Index is bullshit. It doesn't take muscle into consideration at all.
Muscle weighs more than fat, and some of the fittest people i know are "overweight" according to the BMI.

I have no idea how tall or heavy I am. According to Wii Fit, I was just above my ideal weight about 6 months ago.

If you have a driver's license, it should have at least your height on it.

I have average BMI--5'4" and 130 lbs.

But Huntey is right. BMI is not the best measurement for fitness. A bodybuilder would be considered obese according to his BMI.

BMI is a load of bullshit.

When I was in junior high, a skinny, tall kid with no muscles at all, it said I was "obese"

Now, in High School, I'm a skinny tall kid, with a slight amount of muscle, and now it says I'm perfectly normal.

Also, I am currently 6 feet, 3.5 inches, and 208 pounds.

hahaha
ATDestroy: what is 6 feet, 3.5 inches, in meters?
Try paying attention to the labels next time =P

im 103 lbs, 5'3 =)

Real BMI is calculated in water. dunno how, but that's what i've heard so it's true.

5'11 - 185 pounds
Always knew i was overweight, but i've always been this way... where'd i put my wii fit?
My doc seems to think i'm perfectly healthy - I'll take his word.

Being someone who is overweight doesn't necessarily make you someone who is unhealthy, and getting thinner doesn't necessarily make you more healthy.

Yeah, water displacement, they measure the volume of the water before you are lowered into it, and then they measure it when you are, and through some methods that I am not aware of, they somehow calculate percentage of body fat.
Posted 14 years ago2009-11-29 17:16:18 UTC Post #276161
They calculate the amount of water displaced vs your weight. If you weigh a lot and displace a lot of water, you're a fatty. If you weigh a lot but displace less water, you're muscular. And if you weigh little and displace little water, then you're underweight.

Man, see this is why I never bother with this kind of stuff. I say, your ideal weight is what makes you comfortable, not what some chart tells you. If your fat and unhappy, deal with it. If your fat and happy then who gives a flying monkey turd?

well, if he told some one"You are fat and have a chance of dieing", or something, then that fatty better stop eating, and/or start dieting.
