When I run hammer to start the map, it opens steam, and than just the console. my brother has his working on another computer, and i have everything right(according to him) but it still only opens console.

It's not set up properly. Also, get Zoner's Tools instead of the Quake-tools.

i dont get zoners tools... im really neew at this. i just want to know what i can just quickly do to fix it. i know nothing about zonars ATM.

and i fixed the part where it says "could not execute..." it still just opens console blank.

You haven't set up Hammer properly. Read that link.

Aren't that a little bit to much wad files?? Try to get only 8 in it. It can solve problems when you want to view your map.

Take your time Spock. If you're new at this you should do some homework before you get too deep mapping, or else you will have "newbie problems" that are impossible to fix. You'll find that a "quick fix" isn't nearly as useful as "doing things right". Read the tuts, search the forum, and have fun mapping!
