This guy owes his life to his iPhone.

While he did use apps to treat his wounds, why couldn't he just use his GPS and call someone to give his exact location?

Maybe there was bad reception under all the rubble? Or maybe there was no signal at all because the antenna came down?

iPhone destroys finances. ?20 for a pair of fucking headphones?

I'm with Zeeba. Hell I'm willing to bet Apple induced the earthquake in the first place and paid the guy to stand right there with that iPhone app at the exact moment it struck. What a tragedy. These product marketers will do anything these days, even if it costs lives and destroys whole countries. Apple should be taken to court for this, it's absolutely unacceptable.

Oh.....Apple was just getting warmed up with the iPhone! The rumored Apple tablet, currently known as the "iSlate", is just around the corner. Next time you hear in the news of a powerful earthquake striking, that would most likely just be the iSlate being officially introduced to the public by Apple.

Apple's sales model seems to consist solely of taking old ideas and making them white (or black) and shiny. Then sell them to the millions of Apple cultists around and boom, another billion in the bank. Who needs innovation?

Even though you make a good point there ZombieLoffe, I must point out one little exemption: The iPod. As far as I know, prior to the introduction of the original iPod, there was no device out there in the market that would be considered in the same class as what the iPod came to be. The nearest thing would have been portable CD players with a built in MP3 decoder, allowing for the playback of "MP3 CD's", which would translate to a standard blank CD-R holding about 10 hours of MP3 audio, more or less.

And imo, Creative are still the best.

I stand corrected then. Apparently the first MP3 player was one called "MPMan F10", manufactured by Korea's Saehan Information Systems and launched in March 1998. The Rio PMP300 from Diamond Multimedia was the 2nd MP3 player, it was introduced in September 1998, a few months after the MPMan. After the further release of 2 or 3 more digital player models, it was not until October of 2001, that the first generation iPod (5GB) was released to the public.

To perform CPR correctly, the compression must be 1/2 to 1/3 the depth of the thoracic cavity, and the motion must be exactly vertical up and down. The security guard's elbows were partly flexed, and the compressive movement was not straight up and down.
