can u explain me how do i use the C0A0YELLOW texture to make a cool light effect???

Rendermode Additive, I believe.

You actually have to do it reversed. Light comes from the top and fades to the bottom( so you inverse the textures, black in additive means transparent)

Func_illusionary and test out a couple of render modes like textured, additive and test with the values etc.

Yeah, you need to flip the texture, from light (top) to black (bottom), then use rendermode additive and an FX amount.

And also cut a unit off the black end, as some of the light end can be seen if you just fit it to face.

wow that's really cool i've been doing fades wrong for my whole mapping career then! (i set rendermode to texture and renderamount really low like 5-15)

Setting it to additive/255 (don't know if the renderamount is important) renders the black part of the fade automatically transparent! I guess you can teach an old mapper new tricks!
