So onlive's free trial went completely free today, which means you don't need a credit card to use it, and all you need is just a account and your golden!

So, what's onlive? It's a streaming service where you basically stream a live feed of a game onto your screen, only you actually get to CONTROL the game, using the service, therefore you do NOT need a top-of-the-line rig to play all the new games.

Here are the requirements:

A Above-high speed internet connection to stream laggy and low quality video.
A pixel shader 2.3 compliant video card with 256 MB of video ram.
Being a resident of the united states.
A credit card to take advantage of the free trial
Being fit to endure constant connection drops with Onlives sub-par servers
Being able to deal with Onlive's technical support

As you can see, the requirements to stream a game are so low, even a laptop can run it!
In fact, the requirements are SO awesome, that if you can run onlive, you can actually run Crysis too!
So, now that you know what it is and what the requirements are, go get it!
You will need a credit card for the free trial, though.

The insanely low requirements so you don't need a top of the line rig to play all the next gen games.

This is all really cool stuff. I'd be interested to see this be more main stream. Also, Crollo stop being a jackass, post like a man.

Uh... I don't get it... if you're trying to say something, why not just come out and say it instead of intentionally contradicting yourself to make a point?

Talk about ambitious. This is not something we have the technology for yet.

OnLive's initial announcement didn't really interest me. It seemed steeped in DRM: you're essentially renting the games. If OnLive goes belly-up, there's absolutely no way to claim ownership of games, since you never really had them to start with. This, combined with the system requirement of having lightspeed Internet (something that few people have access to at the moment, particularly in countries other than the US) means that you have to run the games at a crippled resolution.

Secondly, I'm sure that any pro-gamer out there would balk at the idea that they're essentially just playing a video. The lag issues involved with precision gaming would be insane.

I'll stick to Steam, GoG (even after their stupid stunt) and good old fashioned retail, thanks: I'd like to have an actual product after I've forked over cash.

You don't even buy games with OnLive, you just rent them at full price. They are able to remove the game from your account at any time. Also, if you stop paying their monthly fee, you lose any game you paid for. Honestly, it's a stupid system based on a stupid idea. If you can't (or don't want to) keep up with PC specifications, get a bloody console. At least you'll be able to keep the games you pay for.
