The original picture looked ugly so I decided to make it a bit more artistic. Even though it's grainy, I think it looks better than the original.
It's because it was made at full zoom, and atmospheric conditions weren't quite appropriate for shooting, plus it was almost evening with a cloudy sky.

You've managed to create a piece of Stalker concept art.
Let's see the original :)

You mean the background of a supposed concept art.
Let's see the original
No. It's horrible!

Great photos! I think the station is missing the platform, perhaps you should check if it actually is a station :P

Also, that rail is kinda worrying. I hope it's an unused track.
Posted 14 years ago2010-10-25 16:16:13 UTC Post #286608
Thank you!

That is the station from my village(sort of town though), and you can't see the platform because that is actually the entrance in the station(you can see the light indicator poles).
About the rail: yes, it is a used rail. That's why we don't have TGVs in Romania and we won't in the next 50 years probably x(.

Those are great, Striker. I always want to take photos when I see railways as well for some reason. There's something oddly artistic about the way they snake through a landscape.

A recent casual photo of mine which I'm posting here just to express my utter disgust at the fact that she still looks great when she's spazzing out with some watermelon in her mouth.
NOBODY SHOULD LOOK GOOD IN THAT SITUATION.

Daubster, don't be angry that your artwork is on the floor next to the couch. This was taken when I was in the process of putting it on a proper mount rather than just having it attached to the wall with bluetack

Not at all, just a Nikon Coolpix P100 :P. I hope I can save enough money for an entry level DSLR though, like Nikon D3100.

Added some new photos. I'll be adding a ton of photos next month(or so I hope...). Unfortunately I have a 100mb limit so I'll have to scale them down on the pc first(I'm not bothering doing that myself yet, flickr autoscales them and reduces the space it occupies, but it does calculate the upload not the actual space the transformed photo will take).

Wow, ummm... I feel deeply touched.. I guess. I think I was inspired in those moments? I also discovered how much I enjoy to take photos of water, splashing water, objects in water and water reflections. They're absolutely wonderful. Thanks guys- this motivates me and makes me think I now have the right to want a DSLR. I will get one in the future(right now, if I had the money I would get Nikon D3100, but if I won the lottery I'd get the newly launched D7000 :D).

Huntey, here's the download link:

I don't really know... I don't want too much hustle with lots of sites and accounts... I'm actually thinking about starting a blog maybe.

Heh, I'm indeed not a photographer, but photography and filming is a passion for me. And even though you say I only know the rule of thirds, actually I'm trying to learn other things as well(I subscribed to a photo magazine).
Thank you again.

[EDIT] Nikon D7000 is now available for buying. This camera is just wonderful(min 1/8000s exposure time for mid-class :O, and a lot of great features that I'm not gonna list, instead check this link.
