I know it's early but I practically live for these. I was thinking and wouldn't mind doing another "map from layout". There really fun and pretty easy to finish with such guidelines.

I'd actually prefer a given map to be transformed. Remember the "texture it" compo? Source let's us be more creative with all the shaders and texture effects.
I know it's early but I practically live for these.That's bad.

I don't know what all this "from lay-out" talk means. Let's all make counter-strike maps for the next compitition.The layout is your map's floor plan. In "map from a layout", we are given a floor plan and have to build a theme around it.
Check Compo 27 if you want to see one from the past.
Would anyone be down for scary mapping?

Funny, I watched several compilations of competitions entries for Mario 64 Tool-assisted Speed-runs. The parameters were interesting, like collect this star and along the way, only open 1 door and do 5 wall-jumps.
Maybe something like Construct a map that features, Earth, Fire, and Water.
...or A map with a teleport to Xen and back. Like the ancient competitions we had under the old republic.

I just mapped a temple map de_aztec_temple. For those of you that still play counterstrike but don't have condition zero GET IT!!!!!! Counterstrike is WAYYYYYY out of date. Condition zero is the exact same gameplay except better models and way better versions of all the basic maps. Plus ya'll need to test out my map I made for it! And i'm starting another one for it now.

Condition Zero was at least an attempt to shake up the dated gameplay, so I'll commend it for that. It's a shame Deleted Scenes isn't polished, it's interesting.

Counter-Strike was fun and all, but there were major logistics errors. Why in the hell would a right handed shooter own a left handed variant of a firearm, when a left handed variant doesn't even exist for said firearm? How do you even PULL the forward assist without breaking your entire M4\M16A4? Why are so many weapons extremely underpowered? Deagle is the only pistol worth buying, and AK\M4 are the only rifles worth buying apparently, because every other weapon is terrible.

Why would they waste their time making different models for the low percentage of left handers out there its just a game. Other things are worth fixing though like holding weapon while climbing ladder and other things.

There are several different Counter-Strike games (Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes, Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike Neo and Counter-Strike Online) and several versions of Counter-Strike, for example 1.5, 1.4, 1.3...
