For some time I've manifested an increased interest in coffee and other coffee-related products, such as cappuccino. Perhaps it's related to the fact that caffeine is weakly addictive, and I've consumed higher doses of coffee lately. I am used though to consuming low doses of coffee since I entered highschool. Every morning(but especially during school), I have a big cup of milk, with a small quantity of coffee on the bottom(as much as to just change the color of the milk from white to brownish). I sometimes drink "pure" coffee in high doses at exceptional times, before an important test or if I slept less than 6-7 hours.

As a kid I was always intrigued by the fact that people in coffee ads drank from quite big mugs, and I saw my parents drinking from tiny cups. It seems that there are different methods of making coffee, producing different coffee strength. That's when I got interested first time in it. But of course I lost interest fast as it was kind of a "forbidden" beverage for me as a kid. Now I'm thankful that I can drink milk with coffee than milk with that nesquiq crap.

I'm currently using a "Moka Pot", or "Caffetierra",

which is enough for a day's worth of coffee for my family.

Lately I thought about making at home other coffee-related products, such as cappuccino. That's why I want to save some money for an espresso machine, which is about 140$.

So far I've managed to taste the following types of coffee drinks:
-moka pot cofee( from what I understand it's slightly weaker than espresso, but much stronger than filtered coffee)
-filtered coffee( I'd rather drink tea than this...)
-cappuccino(my favorite so far)
-frappe
-Irish Coffee Mix

Talk about your coffee experience! Tell us how you brew the coffee at your home! What's your favorite coffee drink?

I don't drink much coffee, and when I do, it's just plain coffee as far as I'm concerned. I don't know the difference between any of the coffee types, let alone what they are.

Ha great thread!

i drink filtered and instant coffee(GAH i know!), but i'm definitely looking to "spice it up" a little. Ever since i saw the use of a french press on simon & simon i've wanted to get one. Afaik, they inexpensive as well.

I'd also like to get an espresso machine, but i probably won't, since i'd be the only one using it.

What kind of coffee are you using striker? Ima bout to go shopping and try some Starbucks Costa Rica Tarrazufee. maybe i'll pick up the french press as well.

Also to anyone, i'm looking for some good tea blends to use, taking suggestions from any of the tea drinkers out there!

I don't always drink coffee, but when I do I make sure to spit it out before I puke it out. It's fucking disgusting.

Ya it's one of those aquired tastes for sure, like youe grandpa's cough syrup. I mostly just drink it to achieve my target heart rate, but I also love the smell of fresh-ground roated coffee beans.

I've never had any desire to drink coffee. I'm kind of surprised, if anyone has a caffeine addiction it's me. I've literally drank about 5 litres of Coke a week for the past four years. Unhealthy, I know.
Although I do like tea, although I haven't had much opportunity to try different blends. I remember I got a set of different teas for a birthday maybe ten years ago, but other than that I haven't had many types. I distinctly remember disliking Earl Grey and Lady Grey though. My favourites were English and Irish Breakfast.

This guy.

I should drink coffee in the morning to help me get going, but I never do. I spend the first hour of work yawning constantly.

I like coffee but it has to be sweet as fuck. I usually drink instant coffee because I'm a lazy fucker, but I do own a cafetiere and a bean grinder. If it's plain coffee or coffee infused with something then I need to add 2 or 3 sugars to enjoy it. Otherwise, I drink a caramel flavored blend but that costs over £5 a jar...

Oh and there's frappucinos too. Basically a coffee milkshake. Gotta love that with some whipped cream and a caramel syrup.

I've never been a big fan of coffee. Frozen coffee is pretty good for a snack, but even that I've only bought maybe 4 times in my life.

Though I love me some Kahlua.

Neither of those have anything to do with actually brewing coffee.

"Discovered" a nice cup of tea today, from two things i normally hate: green tea and honey. Seperately, i can't stomach either, but together, they make a very nice/satisfying substitute for my coffee addiction. (i'm trying to limit myself to two cups per day)

I used to be quite an avid drinker of coffee but that's been taken over by tea now. Yes , my story really is that bland.

I make foldger's with a regular coffee maker. Usually pretty weak and then tons of coffee mate and a little sugar. I don't drink it every day though because it tends to not work as well then.

Also if i'm going on a long trip or to church or somethingI don't drink it because it makes me have to use the restroom a lot.

The maw-fffnin' Foldger's crystals! oh how it's so much better than normal instant coffee! <highfive> :P

I also take it the same, except no sugar. Sometimes i'll put some honey in there, but it doesn't mix too great; you have to be in the mood for it i guess. (plus i like using honey whenever i can cuz it's supposed to be good for ya)

I try to limit my use as well so it works when i raelly need it.

I drink about 4 cups of coffee a day, morning, noon, then late afternoon. Morning coffee is black as hell, with one spoon of sugar. Noon time coffee is normally black as well, sometimes a little half and half. Then late afternoon coffee, has one sugar and a bit of half and half. I prefer my black coffee to be so black it makes your eyes bleed, so a Dark Roast or a Rich Colombian Roast. Tea with honey is always good to.

i dont understand why people need caffeen to get them through a morning (or entire day)

atleast this thread isnt about energy drinks.

I personally don't understand the taste issue, granted I've pretty much only drank 2 cups worth coffee (black with nothing in them), but I don't understand how it tastes bad. Didn't really help me stay awake or anything, just made me need to piss really badly.

It's a subtle effect. I don't think we can expect to become superthinkers if we drink coffee or take Ginko Biloba or something like that.

caffeine seems to affect everyone differently. Some people really sensitive to it and can get "high" from a half cup of decaf, and some it doesn't seem to touch them no matter how much they drink

I personally love coffee to start the day, stimulating my mood and creative processing nodes, and stimulating general well-being in my unimatrix :P

lol

I Like double shot latte best with a teaspoon of sugar if I feel like a sweeter drink.

I've also had turkish coffee, which tasted like burned aniseed. Also
on my trip in Italy I drank a lot of espressos with a dash of grappa, but I didn't really fancy it, I just did it to please the locals.
