Is it allright to cut a VERY complex object out of the map for compiling-speed purposes (you know, adding new stuff without wait for 2 hours for the map to compile) and to paste it it the final compiling archive?.
Regards.

Yes, you shall use "Cordon Bounds" go to VHE Help- User's guide- Toolbars- Map Operations and go down to "Toggle Cordon State, Edit Cordon Bounds" and read about it.
And when you save it use a new name for it, so you don't write over your old bsp.file with the whole map.

Also, don't CUT your complex object out. Just select it and click View->Hide Selected Objects. Your thingy will be put in a VisGroup and then hidden. Now when you compile just check the box "Run with visible objects only" When you want your thingy back, unhide it (View->Show Hidden Objects), and recompile.

P.S. What's a VisGroup? Click Help->Help Topics->User's Guide->Grouping and VisGrouping

visgroups are always fun, save a hell of a lot in compile time for me

Thanks ;)... Making a big thing at the beggining of a map is a hell of waiting for compile when you add new things.
