The point would be to shine up what's dull. Newer games probably have nicer levels to start with. I like the "remaking a level" in general but it would help if it's base map was recognizable/ if more people were familiar with the base map.

I think the point was to have a map jam for the server since we have one again. I wish it was teamplay or could be set to teamplay for certain maps. I also wish I had the time and energy to devise some kind of experimental free-for-all DM map type that worked and would be enjoyable.

A remake would probably be easier. If it's a new map limits should be imposed - because of my chronic procrastination it took me months to complete dm_researchvessel. I doubt anybody completes a deathmatch map so fast unless it's small.
But with remakes there's one problem. People, imo, are not as familiar with many hl maps as they are with cs maps. I only know very well 2 or 3 maps.
Much more interesting would be for everyone to create another version of the same map - although this reduces variety.

I've done stalkyard before, but I'd probably do it again. No, bounce, I'd do bounce. Bounce plays awful imo, though it has a nice concept.
Subtransit is a great option, though it's already sort of nice. It could totally be spruced up though.

I love bounce, never had a problem with it. Love launching satchels with the bouncers, setting tripmines in screw-you locations, longjump-kamikazeing with grenades... okay, most of those apply to any of the maps, but I still like bounce.

KOTH and CP for HLDM came far too late in it's lifetime to be useful or relevant. Its a shame, I worked so fucking hard inventing the triggerwork for them.

If we basically make it this competition, but for HLDM, I think we'd have a really good fun time.
That way Zeeba could do a bounce-styled map, but with his own layout to fix the gameplay problems, etc.
Make the theme recognisable, but still make it a new map.
