What are products are you hunting for this year's Black Friday?

For me, it's a printer. I've put my eyes on this Epson L210. It's a bit expensive compared to other printers, but it has CISS, meaning I can print up-to 4000 or so pages with one ink fill. This is better than laser printers... It also has a scanner.
Well, I don't know if luck would strike and some shop will reduce the price of this specific one, but my eyes are on it.
The downside is that it doesn't have wireless functionality.

If I can get the funds together, I'm hoping to get the parts for a new computer, be it Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Black Friday?

(I think someone's explained this to me before. Shows how well my memory works, really.)

Black Friday, is the Friday after the American Thanksgiving, and is considered the kick-off to the holiday shopping season (though coming pretty late this year it seems). It started years ago w/ retail stores giving insane and often time sensitive discounts on items that would create shopping frenzies, with ppl lining up the night before, and doing everything they can to be first into the store, occasionally w/ nasty results (youtube 'black friday mob' and black friday death count.)

Cyber Monday is the online counterpart, where online retailers offer similar discounts the following Monday, only w/o the craziness.

It can be fun Jessie, people go out drinking thursday night and then run and get in line for the deals early friday morning. Not my thing, but a lot of my friends do it.

I don't really watch TV, but maybe It would be fitting to replace my 27" tube this year with a black friday deal. Maybe Beast Buy will also have some good doorbusters :)

I'm not a fan of Black Friday, though I like cyber Monday. Don't go for the crazy black friday deals. Most of them are really bad low-end TVs that are sold for cheap :-/ Stick with things that have been around for a while, have good reviews and are only marked down (not manufactured) for the season.

I never knew what Black Friday actually was. Like Jessie we don't have that here. I therefore have the RIGHT not to know or care what it is :P

Well, I never said we didn't have it. I'm just incredibly ignorant. So I wouldn't know.

Black Friday is very much an American thing. The only place you'll see it outside of the US is from online stores based in America. And on Youtube where you can see the videos of thousands of idiots stampeding each other to death so they can save 10 bucks on a laserdisk player or whatever's cool these days.

It's copied outside too. The difference is that, in my country for example, a lot of the price cuts are fake, yet there are good offers nevertheless.

In recent years, Canada has gotten the deals too. The difference here is that they aren't nearly as deep, and we maintain our sanity. :P

And also that it's nowhere near Thanksgiving so it can coincide with US Black Friday.
