I have read the tutorial on how to make fences, and fully understand it, but here is the problem. When I make my fence, compile the map and run it, the fence is 100% invisible.

I even tried copying the fence from the tutorial to my map and re-sizing it just to see if it worked, and I still get the same result?

Could this be due to my compile options or what? :\

Anyone?

You've probably selected "Render mode: texture" instead of "Solid"? Or something?

Are you using a standard texture?

Does the compile error?

erm, fist chek if you got the settings right. rendermode: solid
fx amount 255
leave the rest as it is.
are you sure the texture got a { in front of it

OK, now I have something really really weird, I go to see my properties of the fencing, and it's all lost all the settings I gave them, I select them and click to-entity and re-setup all the setting, but as soon as I click off of that object, it looses all it's settings, wtf is going on here? :zonked:

You have the 'ignore groups' button active on the tool bar. Turn it off and your func_wall will be OK again. As for the completely invisible problem, your render amount needs to be set high, 255 is the max. If you leave it at zero, the wall is invisible. ;)
