Ohhhh... CRAP! I can't make a map without an idea. So i need one. Give me some ideas.

Go read some books, take a stroll outside, watch a movie, whatever. Being able to get idea's yourself is an essential part of mapping.

Area 51... you woudn't even have to make any custom models... its all there...millitary guards the outside of the place, and alien expieraments inside...scientist work the expieraments... and barney could be security inside the buildings, gman could even be the "head pancho".

Captain P does have a point though...

Um... dude, Half-Life did the Area 51... its called Black Mesa lol

Area 51 would be HL all over again basically..

But nobody knows what area 51 looks like. Make a full recreateation of the first few parts of the Black Mesa Resaerch Facility

And Black Mesa seems a lot like A-51 doesn't it? Desert Location, High Security...the list goes on and on. And there ARE pictures of A-51 out there....Arial photos, Base Pictures from before they closed access to a spot where you could view the base...Pretty awesome stuff. So yeah, a few people know what it looks like if you hunt around enough. Just some hangars, barracks, personnel facilities on the surface. Usual for a military facility, dontcha think? Dunno what (if anything) is underground....

Do what I do. Make a succession of maps that make the player get smaller and smaller. First I did a bathroom where you were 3 inches tall. Then I did inside a video tape. Then I did inside a pen. After a while you give up on the stupid ideas because half-way through you think of a good idea and then actually finish the good idea because the bad one gave the good idea. lol that last sentence is kind of weird....

There probably more stuff under ground... nothing like black mesa, you know somthin' small.

Listen to Captain P, if you cant get an idea of your own, you shouldn't be here really. Anyway, using other people's ideas is low, regardless of wether people give you the idea freely or if you steal it.

Furthering my point, It wouldnt really feel like your map if you went on somebody else's idea

area 51 etc. it's not area 51, it is a very close re-incarnation of it but yeah... it;s not an exact replica. you could make area 51 and have i nothing like hl.

I think there were a number of A51 mods at ModDb...Join their mod team!

On a side note: Anyone ever play that killer A-51 arcade cabinet game?
