We've got 'Now Gaming' and even a 'Just Finished Gaming' thread, but what about upcoming titles? What upcoming games are you excited about and why? My current list:

THE AAA
Far Cry 5
As generic as the games can be, Far Cry 3 and 4 were my go to stupid action game in their respective release years. Far Cry 5 offers character customisation and will apparently have a strong coop focus. Win win on both points.

Destiny 2 (PC)
Interesting that they are bringing this to PC after the console exclusive originally. I'm not particularly looking forward to this one as I know very little about the whole thing. However, with an upcoming open beta, I am definitely going to try it out and see how I feel afterwards.

THE INDY
Pillars of Eternity 2
Though I never had the money to back their crowdfunding campaign, after falling in love with the classic RPG style of the original, as well as Tyranny, the game developed with the earnings from PoE, PoE2 seems to just pile on more of the RPG stuff that I love about the original. Meaningful choices, branching story missions and plenty of customisation, all set in a world that's genuinely interesting to explore.

I do secretly wish Obsidian would just make another Fallout game, but Bethesda isn't likely to allow it. :(

Sui Generis
Probably even more obscure this one. An open world isometric RPG with physics driven content and permadeath. I bought the tech demo they released 'Exanima,' which gives you a singleplayer dungeon crawl mode, and a career Arena mode which lets you build up a set of champions to fight in the arena. These champions can die from a single fatal blow, which is always a real punch to the gut when you've invested hours into levelling one guy.

The developers have gone quiet since February however, with no more updates to Examina since. This either means they're simply knuckling down to get the main game Sui Generis done, or... They may have gone under. :(

THE SWITCH
(I realize these games mostly already exist, but I don't got a Switch yet.)
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I want a piece of this. I've heard great things, and I think I'll dig it.

Super Mario Odyssey
I need to know what the hell this is.

Splatoon 2
Splatoon 1 was good fun.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
I don't know or care what the rabbids are, but this was enough to convince me I should check this out. Whatever the goddamn hell it is.

THE STEAM
Slime Rancher
I saw this game on a segment of one of Giant Bomb's Unprofessional Friday shows, and thought it looked neat enough to try out. However, I have a personal policy to not play Early Access games before they are released, just so I don't play a whole bunch and burn out on something before it is actually a finished product. (PUBG is an exception.) Anyway, Slime Rancher is due to be released from early access... yesterday. Either time zones or a delay is holding it up, otherwise I'd be playing it right now. Either way, palpable anticipation.
UPDATE: It appears to have been released. Goodbye, day.

Dead Cells
In early access, see policy outlined above. Looks really neat, and might scratch a few of my various gaming itches.

Astroneer
Yet again, early access. Looked kinda empty when I first saw it, but I think this has some real potential to become something cool.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
I played an unhealthy amount of the original Mount & Blade, so I've been watching every damn move this thing makes. Gotta say, it looks very promising! If you're a mapper/modder (and you are), check out this video. It's fucking sexy.

If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to add it. I feel like I'm forgetting things.

I would very much like to get my hands on a Switch at some point in the near future. I think it would be a good choice for Ivory's first games console.

Mount and Blade seems to pop up daily on ModDB and it's getting to the point that I can't keep ignoring it. I will likely see what M&B2 is going to offer later on, and most likely add it to my list. :P

"Well, I guess we're the only two people looking forward to anything ever."
Don't forget about me.

Crashday: Redline Edition

Oh my... Crashday was my childhood game. I know that they haven't done that much in Redline Edition, but it will be nice to see what's new in Redline Edition. :D
I'm not super-excited for it, it's just nice to see one of my childhood games trying to get revived.

And that's pretty much it. :P
I'm also excited for Half-Life 2: Episode 3 and Half-Life 3, but that will be in the next century. My grand-grandchildren will get to see the release of those two, assuming I ever have kids and my kids have kids and my kids' kids have kids.

TES III: Morrowind Multiplayer

Can't wait for improved release + mod support. I'll be rocking undead hunter build with group of other players, with The Undead mod that adds hundreds of new varied monstrosities...

If we're talking about MODs then I'll throw mine in here as well...

THE MODS
Skywind and Skyblivion
I was a little late to the Elder Scrolls party and as such I never played Morrowind and could not get into Oblivion when I tried, likely because of how dated it looked. I know there are mods are available to improve the graphics, but I'd also get hung up on the gameplay mechanics.

Skywind and Skyblivion are going to be my way of properly getting into these older titles and I just cannot wait to sink my teeth into them. Hopefully they remain somewhat faithful to the originals, but with the gameplay improvements that came with Skyrim.

Fallout 4 New Vegas
This is little more than a blip on the radar at the minute, but if it takes off I will be obsessed! Fallout New Vegas was one of the best Fallout games of recent years (especially in terms of the RPG aspect) and to see it rebuilt in the Fallout 4 engine will be awesome! As far as I know, it's only being worked on by one guy and a couple of his friends at the moment, so I'm not going to get properly hyped until it's got a decent sized team behind it.

There are mods that make TES games mechanics more bearable for new players. Can't remember off the top of my head, might check if you want to.

Honestly Oblivion and Skyrim aren't my cup of tea. Sure they are fun to play once in a while but they get boring for me pretty quickly, and I enjoy combat system and atmosphere of previous games more than newer ones. To this day I remember my first vampire ancient in Daggerfall or first visit at Scourge Barrow, or nightmares you get as a vampire in Morrowind or getting attacked by cultists during sleep, or any of the places you could visit (fortresses, caves, crypts, shipwrecks, 6th house shrines)... Don't have really many memorable moments from Skyrim, from Oblivion I recall a random encounter with ghost in some shipwreck, though I think that more due to ghost being some strange luminous levitating goo.

We'll see what TES VI brings...

Oh yeah Mount and Blade 2 is pretty exciting, I'll be excited to grab that when it comes out, the original is really fun!

Apocalypse Now is game the game treatment (https://apocalypsenow.com/) its a few years off but keeping an eye out anyway!

I'm looking forward to... uh... I don't have much time to keep up with the industry, I don't know what's in the works.

Well, I guess we're the only two people looking forward to anything ever.
Not much that hasn't been said already. For now i'm looking forward to Destiny 2 PC in late october. Beta is released this month, i might just pre-order if i get to watch some gameplay footage that looks good.
I don't like pre-ordering but always wanted to try out Destiny, and by the time pc beta is released, consoles would have already gotten the official launch (i think), so i'm assuming it should be pretty stable/polished.

I wish I had time traveling abilities so I didn't have to wait for Life is Strange: Before the Storm. That'd be hella awesomesauce.

life is strange has a sequel?

Prequel, actually.

I'm not really hyped for anything right now, since I'm terribly short on cash and wouldn't be able to buy anything anyway.
That said, F:NV mod Project Brazil is nearing completion, and I recently saw an early access trailer for a game called Foxhole which looks like it might be an MMO I could actually get into.

Oh, and the new Wolfenstein. Gotta pick up the one it's a sequel to first, but that looks good.

I want to see SCORN finally released... even if I will not be able to run it with my PC. :)
