I basically want it so that the scientist will talk and do an animation when the player goes through the trigger. I've only been able to find guides for source when it comes to this question.

Try scripted_sentence for talking and scripted_sequence for animations. You can always decompile the original maps to see how things are done, using winbspc or bsp2map

I learned some more about scripted_sentences, and I was able to figure out how to use it and add it to my game. Thank you for your help.
