lol, you play it in half life. unless your mapping cs, which is a very bad idea if youre just beginning.

Err, does a new window appear and show up some text messages before HL starts?
Try to check the 'don't run the game' checkbox before you start compiling.

hmm... it is still not a bsp.. when i use f9... it just launches half life. And i cant see the map if im trying to create... i have made my map into a .map file.. but it dont make it into a bsp..

it says (in the half life consol) "map change failed: could not find cool map on server" (cool map is the name of my map) i have made the build programs now... what next

First thing: remove the space from the name of the map. It'll spare you a lot of trouble.
Second: If all the progs are setup correctly, you should now be able to compile the map by pressing F9. That's written in the tutorial, too.

So you're making a CS map?
CS maps require an info_player_deathmatch to appear in the map list, add one.
You can play the map singleplayer by typing 'map mapname' into the console.

Go to the folder of this mod.
Look for the 'liblist.gam' file.
Open it and search the point 'multiplayerentity' (something like that).
There you'll see which entity must be in the map to make it appear in the MP map list.
You still can play the map single player with the console commands.
